Recycling Paper

If you work in an office setting then you likely see plenty of paper being used all day long. It is part of the process for getting your work done. You may have to complete files, send faxes, sent out letters, and put together books for presentations. We often use a great deal of paper in our homes too for printing. If you have children in school then they are likely using plenty of notebooks as well to get their school work done.

In order for us to have paper trees are being cut down. This is depleting the resources we have out there. When too many trees are cleared away the natural habitat for animals and plants is destroyed. This can have a very negative effect on our society as a whole. One way to cut down on these types of events is to recycle paper. This means we can continue to use it as we need to without being so careless with the trees we have. This is done so that the overall quality of the paper is still very good. When paper is recycled the fibers can weaken. Yet mixing them with new pulp means that the quality is still going to be there.

If you pay attention to the paper you buy, you will find more of it around is recycled. Many notebooks will say on the back if they are recycled or not. Even office supply companies are offering reams of recycled paper. It is still the same great quality that you want for your business so don’t worry that it has been compromised. Yet you will feel good knowing you are doing your part to recycle and to cut down the number of wasted trees that don’t really have to be destroyed in order to have paper.

You can do your part to recycle paper by collecting it and then dropping it off at collection centers. This can include papers at home you don’t need and newspapers. Should you need to shred various types of papers though you can do so and then take the shreds for recycling. Have a set location at work for paper that can be recycled as well.

If your family was to take one load per week of such items to be recycled, imagine the difference it would make overall. Of all the products out there that are wasted, plastic has one of the highest percentages. If more people took an interest in recycling it though that number would decrease. There are many locations where you can drop of plastic to be recycled. If you don’t know where yours are then contact your local health department or Chamber of Commerce. If your community doesn’t participate in such recycling efforts then make a motion to get it started.

The process of recycling glass is very detailed and very expensive. It has to be evaluated for quality before it can be used. Any traces of bacteria or remains such as debris and food contents are removed from the glass. The glass also has to be sorted based on the color so it can be very time consuming. The dark brown color of beer bottles isn’t something you want to have mixed in with the clear colors. It is all melted down in a furnace with very high heat. Once that is done there are molds that the mixture is poured into. When they are cooled they will form new bodies of glass.

Some manufacturers have contracts with glass recycling companies. They buy the glass containers for their products for them after they have been molded into certain types of containers. This is less expensive for the company than buying glass to make them on their own. It also shows consumers that they are dedicated to recycling and to cutting down waste in the environment.

What I do that the other companies don't, however, is to cash in on a local clientèle. Not only do I sell all natural skin care products, but I sell them made from locally grown, indigenous plant oils. Rather than being imported from all around the world, they are all made right here in Oregon.
A lot of people are willing to pay quite a bit of money for all natural skin care that they can trust. If they know that it is locally grown and manufactured, they can feel good about what they are buying. And feeling good about their purchases is what keeps the customers coming back over and over again.

Adopt A Pet

re you are responsible pet owner? The millions of us that own pets believe that we can honestly say yes to this question. However most of us do not support the humane society or the local animal shelter by adopting animals from the programs. This is the responsible thing to do as a pet owner.
I am not suggesting that every pet owner needs to go adopt a pet from the shelter, but a monetary donation is a great way to insure that these programs can keep going. Also if you are a pet owner that breeds your pet, make sure that the people that adopt a pet from you are going to be responsible and will provide a good home to the animal. At times this may be hard. When our dog had puppies we had to deny one couple from buying one of the puppies. We have Labrador Retrievers. They typically have very large litters. Our dog had twelve puppies that we needed to find homes for. My husband is a hunter and our dogs are whistle and hand trained so there were many hunters that had requested a puppy prior to the litter arriving. However because she had such a large litter we had two puppies that were not spoken for. We ran an advertisement in a weekly sportsmen’s paper that we would take applications from people that wanted to adopt a pet. We had developed a questionnaire that we used as an application. The questionnaire asks how many hours a day the animal would be alone, how much time the owner had to exercise the animal and how often they typically take their animals to the vet.
Some people think that this is a strange form to fill out, but we feel that we have an obligation to the breed to make sure that the people that are going to own the dogs are going to take good care of them. We check out each person that wants to adopt a pet from us. We want to make sure that the animal is getting medical care, good food and exercise. We also want to make sure that the animal is neutered or spayed if the owner is not going to be responsible in researching the breeding lines. The retriever breed is very common so it is important to keep healthy blood lines for those of us that want pure breeds. Because of the number of retrievers that are available some breeders are trying to breed specialty lines in regards to color or skills, such as pointing. This can cause bloodlines that are too close which results in dogs that have high medical needs. Our system of asking questions to the people that want to adopt a pet from us is not going to make a huge difference, but at least we feel we are not adding to the problem of weakening the breed. A

After that absorbs, apply a thin layer of loose powder. Apply foundation and the rest of your makeup as usual. Follow up with another thin layer of loose powder. Carry some pressed powder with you so you can control any shine as the day progresses.

Lasting lipstick. One of the first things to fade is your lipstick. Follow these tips that will help your lipstick last. First, apply a moisturizing lip base. Then, apply lip liner in a shade that is a little darker than your lipstick. Use a soft pencil. Fill the lips in with the pencil. Apply one coat of lipstick and blot gently. Apply another coat of lipstick but this time do not blot. Press a thin layer of facial tissue gently to your lips. Using a large brush, apply a thin layer of pressed powder to the tissue. The tissue acts as a screen, letting in only a small amount of powder. The powder helps the lipstick set and keeps it on longer.

Pack a makeup bag. No matter how hard you try to create a lasting look, you still may need to do some minor touch ups throughout the day. Pack pressed powder, lipstick, mascara, and eyeshadow just in case your colour needs a boost.

The sport of rock climbing was forever changed for me once I watched the film "Wrong Turn." Now, if you've never seen this somewhat cheesy horror flick, then I suggest that you don't view it before a rock climbing adventure out in the woods somewhere. No sir! This film just may taint you for life. It's sort of like watching "The Blair Witch Project" before a camping trip. Anyway in this "Wrong Turn" film you have two rock climbers in the opening scene. A boyfriend and girlfriend are scaling a rock face in the middle of West Virginia woods. Ha, now there's the first big mistake. Now clearly this couple have awesome rock climbing shoes, rigs and even knives. However, all fails when some mutated mountain men attack. Both are slaughter and probably eaten. So if you don't want this happening to you, then I'd forget about rock climbing. Oh, I mean in a West Virginia forest. Anyway, about that heavy duty climbing equipment. You better do a little investing in it. I'm certain that you'll agree that your life is worth the safety measures. Get the good stuff right off the bat so that there are no issues like we saw in "Cliffhanger."
